Assertive Community Treatment are highly specialized services for consumers with severe mental illness, co-occurring disorders (mental illness and substance abuse). The range of treatment and services is comprehensive and flexible. Interventions are carried out at the locations where problems occur and support is needed rather than in a hospital or clinic setting. Services are available 24 hours 7 days a week. The team of professionals is assertive in engaging individuals in treatment and monitoring their progress. There is no arbitrary time limit on receiving services.
