Programs:
Neighborhood Opportunity Fund
The Neighborhood Opportunity Fund (NOF) is primarily designed to assist low-income households who are normally able to meet their needs but occasionally need help when unexpected or emergency situations arise.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Persons age 50 years or older
- Resident of the City of Detroit
- Have a short-term emergency situation
We provide help with:
- Emergency Food
- Emergency Transportation
- Letter Writing and Miscellaneous Paperwork
- Housing Referrals
- Home Repair Referrals
- Eviction and Moving
- Mental Health & Substance Abuse Referrals
- Prescription Assistance

American House Foundation Program
AWBS offers help to adults age 65 and older living in Wayne who are experiencing economic hardship or a vital emergency need.
We provide help with:
- Housing Repairs
- Emergency Rent & Deposit Assistance
- Emergency Car Repair Assistance
- Emergency Dental Care Assistance
- Eyeglasses
- Medication
- Hearing Aids
- Medical Equipment
