Adult Well-Being Services has been providing services to the greater Detroit area for over fifty years! We were founded by the Junior League of Detroit in 1953 and have operated continuously since that time. We began as a senior center on the east side of Detroit, providing a place for seniors to socialize and use their time constructively. Today, we operate out of nine locations throughout Wayne County and provide outreach services in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties.

We are governed by a community based board of directors who live and work in the tri-county area. People who receive services, and their families, are represented on our board of directors. We are always looking for community volunteers to serve on our board or on any of our committees; if you are interested, please contact us and we will put you in touch with someone from our Leadership Development Committee.

The high quality services we provide are because of the high quality staff we are fortunate to employ. They are educated, credentialed and receive constant training to enhance their skills. Most importantly, AWBS professionals are caring, kind and resourceful individuals who approach their responsibilities with enthusiasm and compassion. That is what makes our services exceptional.

We are able to offer a wide range of services because of the broad base of funding that we enjoy. We are able to provide a full range of prevention services as well as intensive services up to full guardianship.
