  10. How much is it to participate in programs?

  1. Who is eligible to receive services? Please contact the program that you are interested in for more information.
    • Eligibility varies by program.

    • For Healthy Aging and Mental Health Services, you must be at least 55 years old, show financial need and be a resident of Wayne County. Medicaid recipients qualify to receive free services.

    • For the Developmental Disability program you must be at least 19 years old, resident of Wayne County and undergo a psychological or psychiatric examination.

    • For Guardianship Services you must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Wayne, Oakland or Macomb counties.


  2. Do you provide transportation? In some instances we are able to arrange transportation for individuals who participate in our skill build programs. Please call for more information.

  4. Do you help with utility bills, home repairs? Social workers can assist you with finding appropriate programs that will help with utility payments and home repairs. Please call our Healthy Aging Services program for more information.

  5. I can't afford to pay my taxes and I need help preparing them. Can you help me to prepare my taxes and with unpaid tax bills? Many seniors can be helped with taxes such as qualifying for the home heating credit. Please call our Healthy Aging Services program for more information.

  6. I am caring for a loved one and need some help coping. Do you provide respite and caregiver support services? Yes. We work with home care professionals that are bonded and prescreened. Please call our Healthy Aging Services program for more information.

  7. I need employment services. Do you provide supported employment for adults with a Developmental Disability? Yes! In our Developmental Disability Service. Please call our Developmental Disability Services program for more information.

  8. I can't afford to pay for some of my prescriptions. Do you provide and durable needs and prescription assistance? Yes, up to $100 for qualified individuals. Please call our Healthy Aging Services program for more information.

  9. I suspect that my loved one is using drugs. Do you provide Substance Treatment? Yes. We provide Substance Abuse Prevention, Early Intervention and Treatment Services in Wayne County. Please call our Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services program for more information.
